About

The person behind the signal.

Highstreet Signal is run by Thomas Wood, based in South Wales. It grew out of a simple observation: brilliant local businesses — spas, salons, studios, academies — were being let down by websites that were out of date, hard to use, or simply didn't exist.

The big-agency model doesn't fit the high street. Independent businesses don't need a six-person team and a retainer with three zeroes; they need someone who understands what they do, builds something clean and fast, writes words that sound like them, and then actually sticks around to keep it all current.

That last part matters most. A website is like a shop window — it only works if someone keeps it fresh. Most of my clients stay on after launch for exactly that: price changes made the same week, new treatments added as they launch, seasonal offers, press announcements, and their Google presence kept sharp so new customers keep finding them.

How I work

Plainly. You'll never get jargon, hidden costs, or a proposal you need translating. Every project has one fixed price agreed up front, you own everything I build, and you can reach the person doing the work directly — because there's only one of me.

The name? A signal is how customers find you. My job is making sure your high street business sends a strong one.

Independent businesses don't need a bigger agency. They need one person who actually sticks around.
